Learn from young entrepreneur

Mark Zuckerberg is a success story like no other. He has achieved what very few people have, by way of bringing together communities and voices of average, everyday citizens. It takes will, vision, and most importantly, a lot of discipline to change the world the way Zuckerberg has. A few lessons that I could garner from his schedule, lifestyle, and story follow.

1.Be Super Passionate

“Find that thing you are  super passionate  about,” advises Mark Zuckerberg. When Yahoo offered him a billion dollars for the early-stage company he’d built, Mark refused, explaining it wasn’t about the money.  Being super passionate  about your work is the master key to  success  – especially in the IT world, where constant  experimentation  with new ideas and long hours are the norm. Keep your inner flame burning bright and make sure that your passion doesn’t fade away.

2.Have a Big Dream and Be Ambitious

Build something that makes a really  big positive change in the world  and will impact many generations to come.  Dream big dreams . Improve the lives of people and bring them together. Know what you want to achieve and  formulate guiding principles . Start small but think big and be ready to sacrifice anything to make your dream business come through.

3.Stop Perfecting, Finish

Finishing something is paramount. It is more important that perfection. “Done is better than perfect,” said Mark Zuckerberg.  Doing your best  is what counts, yet no one is perfect. If you finish something, you can always go back and  improve  on it.

4.Have Faith in Yourself and Stay Focused

Never have doubts about your  abilities  and don’t ever let anyone fill you with negativity. Regardless of anything, remain relentlessly  focused  on managing and improving your business and  customer value . Stick to your guns and believe in what you are doing. Remain strong in the face of adversity and mindful of the hazards. Believe in your ability to maneuver around any challenge that comes your way. Use criticism as a stepping stone to improve what you are working on. Write a thank you note every day. Keep your head in the game and  persevere  – your dedication will propel you into a  successful  businessman.

5.Do Your Best, Work Smart and Hard

Do everything possible  to  make your dream turn to reality . Work very hard to achieve what you want – there can be no success without  hard work . Be ready to make many sacrifices on the way to your  dream .

6.Do the Most Important Thing You Could Be Doing

Ask yourself every day this question, ‘Am I doing  the most important thing  thing I could be doing?’ You shouldn’t feel good about how you’re spending your time unless you feel like you’re working on the most important problem that you can  help with .

7.Break Boundaries and Venture Daringly and Rapidly

Things around you may look good, but you can create a far better world. Don’t copy others. Dare to change the world and make your great breakthrough service available all over the globe.  Take risks . Break boundaries and don’t set limits on yourself and your business.  Accomplish the improbable  and break people’s  perceptions  of what’s possible

8.Be Flexible  and Willing to Change

Don’t be burdened by what other products are like or what  you said  about the same thing earlier. Look at your product or business every time  with fresh eyes  and look for  improvements ,  opportunities  or  radical innovation .

  9.Take Risks

“In a world that is  changing really quickly , the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not  taking risks ,” says  Mark Zuckerberg . Things will continue to develop and change rapidly, and if you aren’t willing to take chances, you’ll be left behind. To  achieve great success , make  bold  choices,  step out into the unknown  and  forge your own path .

10.Move Fast and Break Things

Whether you company small or big, place a really big premium on moving quickly. Most companies slow down dramatically as they grow, but if you can  focus  at every step along the way on moving quicker then you’ll move as quickly as a  small company . Invest in building up the infrastructure and  tools  and also the  culture  that tells people to  take risks  and  try things out .

11.Don’t Let a Competitor Get Ahead of You

In Facebook’s earlier years Zuckerberg said, “Whenever any other company gets ahead of you on something that you think is strategic to you, don’t relax until you had  addressed the problem .”

12.Don’t be fazed by the opinions of those around you.

You must understand that with your ability to think differently, people will not, generally, understand the depth and complexity of your ideas. This is especially true when you get involved in creating new products that many haven’t even heard of or can’t conceptualize. You must realize that people don’t see your idea the way you do.

You can try to explain it to them as best as you can, but at the end of the day their perspective is not as clear as yours. On top of all this, many feel that since they have gone through the experience and failed that no one else can do it. They feel that they know the right path to success and those choosing a different path are just weird and obnoxious. Don’t let these people get you down, at the end of the day it’s your word vs. theirs. This is a true test of your character.

13.You are only as strong as the team around you.

No one can do it on their own. It is nearly impossible to begin a project of such a massive scale and manage it all by yourself. This is why it is imperative that you build a strong team around you. The best way to do this is by hiring people as smart or smarter than you. Don’t be intimidated by working with people who are as smart or smarter than you.

It is truly the only way that one can make their product better. You want people around you who can challenge your idea in a thought-provoking manner. This doesn’t mean that you want people who are going to shut down your ideas. rather people who will help you develop your ideas by finding faults in them. It is your ability to find the faults in your ideas and build them that will bring about great success in your endeavors.

14.Be the CEO and make sure everyone around you knows it.

While it is crucial that you listen to those around you in order to make your idea as fool proof as possible, at the end of the day, the decision is yours. You are the CEO, so you must act like it. People around you need to know that when it’s decision time, your word is final, if it weren’t, you wouldn’t be CEO. Also it is imperative that as CEO, you are a personification of your company; therefore, you must act appropriately because everything you do is a representation of what your company stands for.

15.Leadership is the quality that will bring the best out of the people around you.

As CEO, you are the leader and everyone around you will look to you for guidance when things get rough. It is crucial that you keep your composure at the toughest of times. Because a CEO who is constantly on edge is one who falters under pressure. Your biggest role as CEO is to get everyone around you to believe in one common goal. Your job is halfway done if you can convince those around you that they should work just as hard as you for a unified purpose. This is what truly separates basic CEOs from great ones. If you can get your workers to be just as passionate about your idea as they would be working for themselves, then you, my friend, have succeeded as CEO.

15 lesson from mark zuckerberg teaches that you must Be different and unique in your area of pursuit.
